Arrive at training and competitions on time, and let a member of the club know if you're running late.
Tell your coach or teacher if you have any difficulty attending training or competitions.
Bring the right kit to training and competitions.
Take care of equipment and premises as if they were your own.
Support and encourage your teammates.
Respect volunteers and competitors at competitions.
Respect the committee, the coaching and teaching team and volunteer helpers at all times.
Get involved in club decisions โ it's your sport too.

Respect and celebrate differences in the club, and not discriminate against anyone on the grounds of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, faith, ability or any other relevant characteristic.
Understand that abusive or inappropriate language, bullying, physical violence or any other behaviour that hurts others will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others, especially in the changing rooms.
Not use any mobile device, at any time, in the changing areas.
Report any concern about someone taking photographs or footage of others in the changing areas.
Report any abuse, bullying or other unacceptable behaviour to the Welfare Officer, even if you're only a witness.
Breaches: breaking this code will lead to disciplinary action by the club committee, and any behaviour that may be a criminal offence will be reported to the police and any other relevant authority.

Every parent or guardian of a member under 18 agrees to this code, whether or not you are a registered Swim England member yourself.

Be assured that your child is safeguarded at all times during club activity.
Know who the Welfare Officers are and how to contact them.
Be informed of Wavepower and the safeguarding and welfare reporting procedures.
Know that any concern about your child's welfare will be listened and responded to.
Know that anyone training or looking after your child at a club activity has the appropriate qualifications, checks and training.
Be told of any problem or concern about your child raised by their coach.
Know how to find the club's policies, rules and procedures, including the complaints process and who to contact.
Give or withhold your consent for photography and trips away.
๐คWe expect you to
Make sure your child has the right kit for training and competitions.
Make sure your child arrives on time and is collected promptly.
Let the club know if you're running late to collect your child, if your child is going home with someone else, or if you've made other arrangements.
Complete all consent, contact and medical forms, and tell us straight away if anything changes.
Respect the decisions of your child's coach or teacher โ you always have the right to raise a concern, and we'll arrange a convenient time to talk.
Remember that children get a wide range of benefits from our sports โ friends, regular exercise and new skills. It's not all about winning.
Not enter poolside or interrupt training or competitions except in an emergency.
Talk to your child and make sure they understand the rules of the club and the sport.
Make sure your child understands the swimmers' code of conduct.
By agreeing to this code, you agree to
Behave positively as a spectator at training and competitions, and treat others with respect.
Encourage your child and support them when they are struggling.
Respect and celebrate differences in the club, and not discriminate against anyone on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation, faith, ability or any other relevant characteristic.
Respect anyone competing for other teams at competitions.
Respect all volunteers, committee members, coaches and teachers at the club.
Understand that abusive or inappropriate language, bullying, physical violence or any other behaviour that hurts others will not be tolerated.

Continued breaches by a parent or guardian, whether a member or not, may require the club to stop the child's participation in club activity.

Coaching and behaviour
Respect your position of trust: keep appropriate boundaries and relationships with athletes, and never use your position for personal benefit or reward.
Never engage in any behaviour that constitutes any form of abuse.
Refer all safeguarding and welfare concerns to the Welfare Officer.
Respect children's trust and rights, while being honest and open with them.
Lead by example, creating and promoting positive behaviour and a safe culture.
Encourage children to behave positively and follow the rules of the club and sport.
Make team and squad selection clear and transparent, and be fair and equal when making decisions.
Use positive, constructive methods, with programmes appropriate to each child's age, ability and experience.
Always put the wellbeing, health and safety of the child before every other consideration, including the development of performance.

Champion everyone's right to take part and celebrate difference, never discriminating on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation, faith, ability or any other relevant characteristic.
Challenge and address poor, negative, aggressive or bullying behaviour among children, and seek the Welfare Officer's advice where necessary.
Keep your coaching and teaching qualifications and CPD up to date.
Complete Swim England safeguarding training every three years.
Hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate, renewed every three years.
Breaches: breaking this code will lead to disciplinary action by the club committee under the judicial regulations or, if you are employed, under your contract of employment. Continued issues and repeated breaches may result in dismissal from the club. Any criminal offence will be reported to the police and any other relevant authority.
